The NFL was set on fire when an Indianapolis radio station reported quarterback Peyton Manning will need an additional surgery on his neck. ESPN reported Manning is seeing additional specialists due to the slow healing of his neck. After speaking to a source on the Colts the team didn't believe Manning would get another surgery. There was, however, a serious concern that Manning was not only going to miss the season opener but the potential was for Manning to miss four or five games. Or more. According to Mike Freeman of CBS Sports, the coaches are preparing for a longer period of life without Manning. Source: CBS Sports
Either way they wouldn't have put him on the PUP list just in the hope that he could come back before Week 7. The fact that we are talking about his situation still with a few days before the start of the year suggests that something is definitely up.
There have been reports of him needing a second neck surgery and there have been reports that no one knows anything about the previous mentioned reports...where there's smoke, there's fire...
I really would hate to see him out. First of all he's on my fantasy team and second of all i just love to watch him play out there
Without Peyton, the Colts are a .500 team... Texans are loving this news...gives them a great shot at the division this year. I think they had a good shot even if the Colts had Peyton.
Idk if they Colts are even that good without him. He's that entire offense. I don't see them winning 8 games without him.
