Michael Vick (broken right hand) will miss 3-4 weeks, according to Howard Eskin of NBC 10 in Philadelphia. Eskin serves as the Eagles' local sideline reporter and is also regarded as a mouthpiece for the team. If his report is accurate, the 1-2 Eagles may be forced to hold Vick out through their Week 7 bye. That would mean three weeks of either Vince Young or Mike Kafka. For now, we'd consider Young the front-runner for the job after Kafka faceplanted in relief duty during yesterday's loss to the Giants. Source: RotoTimes
Don't get me wrong, ditching Kolb for DRC and a pick was definitely getting proper value... but this is where that deal starts looking pretty freaking stupid, especially when it isn't any surprise that this dude spends some time on the bench every year. Liked what I saw from Kafka in the preseason, but if Vince can go he's gotta start. The lack of experience from Kafka is just gonna kill him and the team if he needs to play.
Yeah...Eskin wrong again. Shocker. Hand contusion. Could play against the Niners and Maclin's hammy isn't as bad as initially thought...
This makes it much more comforting......... Vick won't last long if he keeps getting hit like that. And the Eagles calling two straight QB sneaks near the goal line was pure genius.
Not confusing reports at all, just don't listen to Howard Eskin. This is the same mother hecker that reported McNabb was traded to the Vikings back in like 2007 was done on draft day and people took it and ran with it. This due just makes crap up. And as far as a starting QB, play Kafka against the niners. Nothing on that team that scares me defensively to be honest. Let Kafka go out there and sit Vick for a week.
The o-line played a damn good game yesterday. You and all of these media pundits saying otherwise clearly didn't pay attention to the o-line play and instead ran with the general consensus. Vick had a ton of time and you barely heard any talk about the Giants studs on the d-line. Over 175 rushing, too. Fact is that Vick holds on to the ball longer than most other quarterbacks. Sure, he gets hit a lot, but it's because he runs out of the pocket and waits till the very last second to get the ball out of his hands. If he has 6 seconds of protection, he will use all 6. If he has 3, he'll use 3.5 seconds. I understand he wants to wait for the open guy, but he is killing himself.
Our oline did a great job opening running lanes for lesean mccoy anyone know that lesean is averaging 6.1 a carry this year oline should get some credit
Teams don't send the extra man that often against Vick. Teams are going to blitz the hell out of Kafka is he does start.
That ends on Sunday. The 49ers defense has only given up on the ground an average of 2.9 yards per carry, and they haven't allowed a RB to get over 100 yards in a game in two years.
