U dont judge teams defense by the yards they give up. Scoring in redzone and points allowed are what u look for in judging a good defense

I feel det was exposed a bit. They have a good d-line but with all that pressure Cutler still had a pretty good game and the bears were able to run on them. CJ is very good but the niners usually play decent with bigger WRS its the Dsean Jackson kind of guys that kill us.
Looking at the 49ers first 5 opponents and comparing them to what they will face in Detroit is not favorable for SF... Vick, Homo and Kitna cross-shredded SF's D for over 900yds. Stafford and Johnson are the best duo they will face thus far. More so than Vick/DJax. Also that stadium is VERY loud. Philly was too busy booing their own team than to harrass the 9ers. Gonna be a tough one but should be a great game!!

ok yes teams threw for a lot of yards against the niners but look at their redzone defense they give up a TD 26% of the time in the redzone that is #1 in the NFL. Also they are the only team to not give up a rushing td this year. I think Vick through for like 230 yards in the second half against SF and that got them all of 3 points?
How so? The lions D-line outside of Williams is pretty bad against the run. Tulloch is good on the inside but Durant not being in there is gonna hurt that rush defense even more. Suh while he is good isn't very good at stuffing the run. Our O-line is better then Chicagos and they were able to gash Lions left and right with the run game. I also like our front 7 vs the Lions. Prob the best front 7 they have seen this year. They have trouble running the ball don't see them doing much of it against SF. Outside of Johnson they don't have much. Look at the few times Bears were able to pressure Stafford he started to crumble. Niners by at least a td this game.
SF is going stay in 3 tight end sets. 2 solid blocking tight ends a solid running game and a great set of receiving te. How is detroit going to stop that. Detroit dline is the best in the league but the lb core and db are suspect. Go is going to cover davis n dw. Droid x. 49ers
I love when these polls are so close. I've been in here 3 or 4 times and it's been back and forth. I hope the game lives up to the hype.
While I think and hope the Lions win, SF dismantled a damn good Tampa team last Sunday and did so in every facet of the game.
Not for nothing, but three of the 5 teams the niners played were the Seahawks, the Bucs, and the Bungels. Even the Eagles are bad in the redzone. Stats are not anything to really go by. All I can say is that this game should be the game of the week and I hope it's one that is televised by me so I can dvr and watch it later.
