The reeling Philadelphia Eagles could be without Michael Vick this week against the New York Giants as the quarterback suffered two ribs in Sunday’s loss to the Arizona Cardinals at Lincoln Financial Field. Yes, when it rains, it pours on the Dream Team. Coach Andy Reid announced the news at his press conference today, according to the Philadelphia Daily News, and it raises the possibility Mike Kafka or Vince Young will start against the Giants. “We’ll see,†Reid said when asked if Vick will be able to play this week. “I’ll see in the next little bit. He’s a tough nut. “It probably had something to do with (his inaccuracy). He did some good things and I didn’t think it came down to him right there. He said he just kinda blanked it out and played. He didn’t think twice about it.†Source: National Football Post
Now lets see if we hear as much about this as we did about Romo's ribs. I'll bet everything I have we don't.
I want to see the x-rays. I didn't see any straining or aching at all. If you have broken ribs, you show it. And he isn't one of those guys that hides pain, he likes the world to know if he is hurting so he can come off as a guy who sucks it up for his team.
vince young will come in, the eagles will catch fire, win their last 7 regular season games, make the playoffs, and win the super bowl........ ?? anyone ? .......
Vince Young will get the start, not Kafka. Because this team loves playing the goober card. As far as firing Reid, you can't. The dude's still one of the best coaches in the NFL. This year has to be written off due to the lock out. Give Reid a full off season with this defense and any offense pieces you bring in(including a full offseason working with the Oline) and see what happens next year. If it's the same result, can him. Aside from that Andy Reid will need to walk away from this job before he's fired.
i'm not saying reid 'should' be fired, i'm just saying the eagles haven't won a playoff game for a while and then for the front office to throw this much money at upgrading the 'talent' and the eagles to finish 6-10 (hypothetically).......... typically that puts a coach in danger.
Well then the Front Office should've worked harder at letting these guys have a full off season together and not locked out their players and then got pissed when they didn't gel together in 3 weeks. Give them a full off season and then go from there. And I understand about the not winning a playoff game in 3 years. But even so, any Eagles fan that wants Reid fired is a moron and will only be pissed about it when Marty Moronwig hecks up the team as the HC.
