Personally, I want Dallas taking him with there #1 and sitting him behind Romo for two years working on his delivery and tightening his accuracy up. I dont think he is an instant starter (but no one thought Cam was either) However, given how teams draft QB's, his raw talent could move him very high in the draft
I love RG3, the kid has "IT" specially playing for Baylor. I would love to see him play anywhere, I have a feeling he isn't a #1 though. 2nd/3rd round?
I just think there are too many good QB's this year. We got: Luck, Barkely, Jones, Foles, Griffin, and Tannehill. They can't all be 1st rounders.
I would take Griffen over Barkley and Jones. And I think once scouting season heats up, he'll be ahead of both of them once the shine of the OU/USC brand wears off a bit
well, let's be clear, there are no 'sure things' when talking about college players transitioning to the pros. pro scouts, who do this every day for a living, whiff on guys every year at every position. having said that, you have to like RG 3's combination of brains, accuracy, vision, and athleticism. he 'seems' to have it all.
so you think the texans will only want schaub to start for a couple of more years? we'll see. schaub is 30 and although he's not an 'elite' qb, the current regime there doesn't seem to be giving any signals that they are considering changing anytime soon.
Both Jones and Barkley are good prospects and solid 1st's, but neither is special. Off the bat, both are better QB's then Griffen, but if Griffen lands somplace where he can be refined, he will be a way better pro then either IMO. If Im drafting a QB, I want the guy that is giving me the best long term return. Griffen needs some work as a passer, but he isnt completely raw. With the right coaching he can be just as effective a drop back passer as either Barkley or Jones, and his running ability would give him a whole another dimension. I think a young McNabb is a good comparison
Thats why I want him Romo will be 32 next season, and 34 when his deal is up. Take RGIII and sit him for two years and let Romo walk. Re-up a 34 year old QB......no thankies
I'm with you about RG3, but I think coming from a smaller school like Baylor will hurt him in the eyes of national recognition. Before they won that big game this year, not many people really knew who he was this year. I remember him from last year too but I don't think many people really knew who he was until they beat TCU and it was all over ESPN. They'll say he didn't face enough elite talent bla bla bla...stuff like that. I agree he is really good, I think if he played at a bigger school he'd be on ESPN and talked about every week, but I think the small school (football wise) is hurting him when it comes to this.
