Cowboys Defeat Redskins 27-24 In OT For 3rd Straight Win

Tony Romo threw two fourth quarter touchdowns and Dan Bailey nailed a 39-yard field goal in overtime to give the Dallas Cowboys a 27-24 victory over the Washington Redskins. Romo completed 23-of-37 passes for 292 yards and three scores for Dallas (6-4), which won its third straight game. DeMarco Murray carried the ball 25 times for 73 yards and Jason Witten paced the Cowboys with 85 receiving yards and a score. Rex Grossman threw for 289 yards and two touchdowns, including a game-tying four-yard TD in the final minute of regulation on 25-of-38 passing for Washington (3-7). Graham Gano made 1-of-3 field goals, missing a 52-yarder wide right in the extra frame to hand the Redskins their sixth consecutive defeat.

And the Redskins suck and have horrible QB's...the Browns are a division game too but the Steelers usually blow them out.

 

Steelers Browns is a rivalry too. My point is if its a rival and they suck you should generally rape them by even more points than expected not far far less. But I'm sure the Skins were playing hard.

I did watch the game, it went like this....the Cowboys looked like crap against a far inferior opponent.

 

Steelers and the real Browns are a rivalry

That rivalry went to Baltimore with the Modell's

 

Game would have been a 2 score game if it wasnt for horrible punt coverage

And Cowboys/Redskins games no matter how good/bad either team may be is rarely a blowout

 

This I will conceed... but Baltimore Steelers are always good teams.

Thats what I am saying, the Boys should have won by at least 7 but they didn't. It had nothing to do with "rivalry" in this case, the ST play was just depressing. How do you let a dude average 33 YPR on Punts. Wouldn't you think to punt away from him at some point? Seriously, the Skins rushing attack was DEPRESSING...Sexy Rexy played alright, but kick AWAY from the guy at some point. This game should have been a blowout, it wasn't because the Boys were either playing stupid football or just not thinking. Brandon Banks IS NOT Desean Jackson, but the Boys sure made him look like it.

Sexy Rexy was the same ole Rex Grossman. People forget that the dude can get hot. But look at some of his pass's when someone was in his face. There were 4 times in this game I literally laughed at him over some horrible pass attempt

Its more then the ST play, that obviously sucked and was a big reason they were in the game. The players get up big time for Cowboys/Skins. Over the course of the rivalry its been a huge equlizer. Hell in the Jimmy Johnsons first year, our only win was VS a playoff Redskins team. In 1991, we were the only team to beat them in a meaningful game. First game of 1993, probobly our best team ever got thrashed by a Skins team that would win 3 mare games all year. This goes on, and on, and on, and on

 

In most cases its that the players get up for a rivalry game and play their hardest, but I feel like in this game it was just stupid decisions. The game was hard fought obviously, but if you stop punting to a guy that is destroying your ST than you win by at least seven and not a FG in OT...

 

Games like this are a double edged sword. There are always the obvious tangible reasons (punt and pass coverage), but there are also the intangible too

On paper, we should have won by 21 points. Redskins never should have had a chance. In these games, it never turns out that way

 

I suppose so but it was just shocking to me that they kept getting burned and never punted away

 

Im not a big fan of our ST coach. Been think he is terrible for a couple years now
