For those who didn't hear the news, late last night, the Texas Rangers signed former Minnesota Twins RP Joe Nathan to at least a 2 year contract. The deal is said to be worth at least $14.5 million in guaranteed money, with a club option for a third year. Thoughts?
A lot of money going to a guy trying to make his way back from TJ surgery. I mean he would be a great 8th inning guy, but that is a lot to risk.
I wonder if that means they're going to let C. J. walk. It probably means they're not going after Darvish, either. They'll probably set their sights on Buehrle. He'll want a lot less than Darvish or Wilson, I'm thinking.
They are going to make Nathan the closer, and move Feliz to the starting rotation, because the Rangers feel that Feliz is better than Ogando or Wilson.
