Minnesota Vikings quarterback Donovan McNabb has asked for his release from the team, and the Vikings granted the release Thursday, according to NFL guru Paul Charchian of FantasyVictory.com. McNabb will take a loss of $1.5 million from his $5 million 2011 salary. Rookie QB Christian Ponder replaced McNabb mid-game in Week 6 versus the Chicago Bears, and has been the starter ever since.

As long as McNabb accepts the fact that his days as a starter are over, i'd take him on the Bears as a back up and only a back up.
