DALLAS (AP) — The Los Angeles Angels turned their own double play Thursday, adding free agent pitcher C.J. Wilson to a roster suddenly boosted by the acquisition of Albert Pujols.Wilson agreed to a five-year deal worth about $75 million, a person familiar with the deal told The Associated Press. Pujols and the Angels agreed at $254 million for 10 years, another person told the AP. Both spoke on condition of anonymity because there was no official announcement. The deals came on the final day of baseball's winter meetings. Source:Yahoo
Again the Rangers get hecked today.... According to C.J. though the "offer" the Rangers proposed was insulting.
Oh I'd take him on the Mets any day. We don't go anywhere near the playoffs so it'd be fine. :) As for "putting it all together," he had Nolan Ryan working with him during Spring Training and talking to him during the summer. Plus Mike Maddux is one of the finer pitching coaches in baseball to...Mike Butcher? People keep giving him props for the studs he has there but they were all mega studs before he did anything. And he also ruined Jeff Weaver as an Angel. Yeah, he'll "pull it all together." He'll pull it together like the Wilpons will suddenly start caring about Mets fans.
Wilson feels "insulted", does he? Well, maybe if the Rangers had an SP that could have buried a #8 hitter, the Rangers might have won the World Series. Just sayin'.
Wilson pitched more than 200 innings in the Texas heat the last two years. Plus, he had an ERA of less than 3.00. In the pitcher-friendly Angels park, I think his stats will be even better.
