Pittsburgh Steelers linebacker James Harrison has been suspended for one game for his helmet-to-helmet hit on Cleveland Browns quarterback Colt McCoy, ESPN's Adam Schefter reports. According to the league, it was the fifth time Harrison has made an illegal hit on a quarterback. Even though McCoy had vacated the pocket and tucked the ball in his arm prior to dumping the ball off, Harrison was flagged for roughing the passer on Thursday night, on Friday, the league released a statement clarifying why Harrison was penalized and likely laying the groundwork for a fine and/or suspension. Harrison will forfeit $73,529 in base salary and is not allowed to practice or be at the team's facility or stadium for any activities during his one-week suspension, Harrison will be reinstated on December 20. Harrison may appeal the suspension and an expedited hearing with either Art Shell or Ted Cotrell would be held prior this week's game. Source: Mac's Football Blog
The way we've been playing the last couple of games I'm glad that he's not going to be there...hehehehehe
That's exactly what this guy wrote in his Yahoo article Alchohol. Good point. NFL should go beyond suspending Harrison - NFL - Yahoo! Sports
I say he's getting off lucky. He's lucky he hasn't been banned for the rest of the season, especially as a repeat offender.
He's laughing at suspensions now? The more I see from this clown the less I like him. He doesn't get it. What makes him any different from Suh? Everyone is all up in arms about Suh's bad habits, but this guy is just as bad. He's worse than Suh, imo.
well, that's the thing. we can argue whether or not the newer rules are good for the game but harrison arguing whether or not he broke the rules is straight up goobered. if these guys would just come out and say, "I broke the rules as the league has them written but the rules are freaking stupid", everyone would have a LOT more respect for these players.
