Kansas City Chiefs interim head coach Romeo Crennel has decided to bench quarterback Tyler Palko and will start either Kyle Orton or Ricky Stanzi for Sunday's game against undefeated Green Bay. Crennel was given the head coaching position on Monday when Todd Haley was fired, and one of his first decisions was to make the switch at quarterback. "I just felt like it would be better for them to know that there would be a different quarterback," Crennel said Wednesday. "They wouldn't have to be worried about who the quarterback was going to be and what the coach is going to do." Orton is dealing with a finger injury and will start if healthy. If not, it will be Stanzi. "We'll have to see during the week how [Orton's] finger is and how it comes along," Crennel added. Source: Sports Network
Yea but he couldn't make up his mind who was QB in Cleveland. Of course its the same deal, no real QB on the team.
Maybe it's just me, but this team is not tough enough to win. You've got WRs who are not running routes, if they aren't the main guy on a play, linemen playing like elevator doors, and we've not even touched on the QB play.... This team quit when they saw too many injuries, no leadership.
People can say what they want. But KC hasn't seen continued success since Marty was running things. Marty cant get to the big game it seems. But damn if he doesn't find ways to put a winning team on the field most times. He took the Virginia Destroyer team in their first season to the UFL championship and won. Now I know the UFL is a shadow of the NFL but it just shows he finds a way to win.
Exactly, there were constant reports from players saying they were just dead after Berry and Charles got injured. They beat up on some bad teams, and some others that were better but had no QB. You could argue the Chargers, but they were playing bad at the time. This team is still way too young and doesn't have enough depth. Depth is the biggest issue, next being QB.
