Several readers, including Tim Pellone, have sent in word that at this weekend's WWE house show events, the company was selling "Cena Sucks" T-shirts, echoing the chants heard at many live events. WWE had a chance to pull a Hulk Hogan like turn with Cena and turn him heel. Now they're just pushing out the facts that they MAY do this and it won't be a shock anymore. STOP FREAKING YOURSELF UP!
I doubt they turn him heel, they make way too much money on him as a face with the kids. I think they should turn him heel though. He is stale and boring but they won't and there is so many behind the curtain facts on why they shouldn't. He is like one of the top ten make a wish, well wishes. Kids buy all his merch like crazy. He is the face of the company, no matter what anyone says. He is there squeaky clean...cookie cutter good guy. They already have the Edgy babyface in Punk and Cena is like there anti Punk. I'm not saying Cena couldn't pull off a heel because he did a pretty good job of it before his face turn but I believe you should never turn your gimmick/persionality into a 180 when you turn from heel to face. Take Orton for example, he hasn't changed much since his turn he just attacks the bad guys now more so the good guys. Sheamus isn't much different other then he beats up the bad guys then the good guys. Orton's promo's are still...well supposed to be cold and evil but who knows. Cena when he was a heel, he was a heel and he rapped about people and there nuts and it got over people dug his attitude. Then he turned face and he slowly pretty much dropped the rapper thing and just became marky mark and the funky bunch. People hate people like that, it just seems so fake and his promo's now are just him making goofy one liners that are not really all that funny. When he loses the title he just smiles, when he loses he just smiles and has that "there is always next time" personality. If you worked so hard for the title, or to beat someone you have been fueding with...no reason why you should just shrug it off like no big deal the next night on RAW...right? Just some of the many things people can't stand about the guy. I hear he is a really nice guy, and works harder then anyone to promote WWE as the face of the company and thats cool. He just needs a change stat.
The thing I love about Cena is that he rocks the anti-bullying tshirt and then comes out and bullies people and makes fun of them. #WWEWIN!
Making money either way, WWE always wins. I think it's hilarious Triple H was in a magazine or some crap talking about how Bullying need to stop but yet he along with Vince make all these inside jokes threw Michael Cole on RAW/Smackdown specially about Lillan Garcia lol.
It has been very noticeable in the last month or two that they have been focusing on "the crowd hating Cena" thing. I have to admit, this is probably the closest tease of a Cena heel turn that I can remember. I still don't think they will turn him heel, but it isn't exactly good business sense to bury your biggest draw.
na punk sells most but zack probably does get alot of broski shirts headband and the other crap like shades money
