If Warren Moon came out of college now he would destroy all the passing records when he would be finished. Just about all of those would. Even Dave Kreig and Steve DeBerg would be superstars. That is how lame the league is now. DeBerg was Farve before Farve was Farve.

I can't argue that. Roy Green was there at that time, I believe, but nothing is rivaling Winslow, Jefferson and Joiner.

Nope only losing season i been through was the 6-10 2005 i believe even that was brutal. Seeing mike mcmahon run around like a chicken with his head cut off. Also 08 which was 8-8 but thats not to bad. Even in the 2000s though eagles fans have been through alot making that many nfc championships and 1 superbowl and losing kills you. I was pissed off for about a month after the 04 superbowl

Ive been through the phillies sucking pretty bad and the sixers being mediocre after the 01 finals. I basicly became a fan of all philly sports at the same time. Some people think its weird that im a all philly sports fan since i was born in new york lived there for the first 12 years of my life. Even when i lived in new york i hated new york teams besides the knicks.

Discounting last season's 7 win performance, the Rams have won 8 games in 4 seasons.

That is tough. Your version of tough isn't even in the same galaxy.

True that i havent went through that and hope i dont any time soon

phillies right now are a top team sixers are on the rise right now and the eagles i think next year will be pretty good even the flyer are close to the top of the league i believe so the future looks ok. Phillies of 08 are the only championship i got to celebrate though so far in my lifetime

WTF? Sure your teams have hit a skid lately. But I remember when the Eagles were always contending. Kicked our butt in the playoffs when we was lucky to go. And the Rams went to several Super Bowls. But we have only recently been winning. And I mean in the post season. We had good years is the 80's but was in the same division with Joe Montana, Rice, and all the superstars the 9ers had back then. Hell, we went 12-4 and was a wildcard team. But it is easier nowadays for teams to turn it around quickly. So, don't despair. The Rams are a young team so they need to learn how to win and stay healthy. Eagles need more help but they are always right there in the mix. Just how it is now.

I am actually surprised you don't recognize Dan Fouts baskett, but passing records don't really mean anything they're just there as Steve said. One that I am surprised has not been broken yet, but I am sure will be very soon is Johnny Unitas's consecutive games with a TD pass, which is like 47. I think Brees is at like 42.

This times 1000! Stats in general are massively overrated an over simplified.

Stats have always been for us mere mortals to discuss our favorite sports.

Once the capitalistic beast realized what sells, rules have been bastardized to sell the sports.

    Nothing's sacred anymore...

well, for legitimate conversations about real football, obviously stats can be over-used .......... however, don't underestimate how many stat geeks there are out there ............ one of the reasons the nfl has soared in popularity over the past 10-15 years is because of a pretend football 'coaching' game that is purely based on statistical output of particular players.

Let's be honest here, football is the most popular sport in the U.S. by far. However, how many of those professed 'fans' actually understand the nuances of the game to the degree that most of us can discuss here? Based upon my personal experiences talking to actual people in the real world, I would say MOST self-professed football fans don't understand the actual game as much as people like us who have played/coached/studied the sport for years at different levels.

Most of the people I talk to in real life can only talk about their fantasy team and their hometown team and their knowledge pretty much begins and ends with whichever players their hometown organization is hyping to their fanbase and whichever offensive players in the league put up large fantasy stats.

w/o reading the entire thread, all I say is look at Cam Newtons and the Panthers stats and you see what individual stats count for....

I agree with this. Especially this year. Numerous times I have heard the local philly radio station 94 wip call Shady McCoy the best RB in football. While he is very good he isnt top 5 imo.
