Oakland Raiders coach Hue Jackson said at his season-endng press conference Monday that he would welcome quarterback Jason Campbell back to the team in 2012. Campbell, who is scheduled to be a free agent, missed the last half of the season with a shoulder injury, and the Raiders paid a hefty price to acquire Carson Palmer from Cincinnati. "By no means do I say, hey, Jason Campbell doesn’t haven’t an opportunity to be here, too. That decision has not been made. I have a strong feeling about Jason Campbell, and I think you guys all know that," Jackson said via the Oakland Tribune. That said, Campbell is probably much better off going somewhere else, because he is a starting caliber NFL quarterback, and there are currently not 32 of those in the league, meaning that in the right spot, he could be a starter again, rather than having to fight with Palmer, whom the Raiders have probably too much invested in when you combine salary and the draft picks lost to acquire him.
