Jeff Fisher Reportedly On The Verge Of Choosing The Rams

The St. Louis Rams reside in the NFC West where, despite what the San Francisco 49ers achieved this past season, there is no powerhouse like the New England Patriots. They own the second pick in the draft and the first pick in the second round that can be used as leverage for additional picks, or to select quality difference-makers. They don’t have a general manager, and quarterback Sam Bradford is entering his third season. All those factors, according to sources familiar with the thinking of Jeff Fisher, have led the former Tennessee Titans coach, who has been weighing serious interest from the Miami Dolphins and the Rams this week, to be on the verge of choosing St. Louis as the next stop in his coaching career. The decision is not final, and things can always change until a contract is signed, but despite the likelihood of leaving some money on the table in Miami, Fisher likes the potential on the Rams’ roster to turn things around relatively quickly.

i was thinking the same thing ................. how dysfunctional must the phins situation be if fisher chooses the rams for less money .......... ??? Unless the Rams are giving him more power and all he wants is the most power he can get.......

Stephen Ross. Why would any coach want to deal with that "mess?"

I really think the Rams would be his best bet. He would have tough competition in the AFC East with Bill Belichick and Rex Ryan if he were to take the Dolphins job. Or he may take on the challenge and give Belichick and the Patriots a run for their money.

well, let's think about this. what will the afc east really be in a few years?

the jets are already imploding under rex ryan. are we really sure he can get that ship righted?

brady only has a couple of more good years and i wouldn't be shocked if belichick retires with brady.

and the bills are always the bills.

so, is the afc east in the future really that daunting of a task?

  8. that's all nice and stuff but time is a luxury most don't have in the NFL. You're looking at at least 3 years for the above to happen.

well, it's true that there is a 'win now' mentality but someone like fisher is going to get at least a few years to build his program the way he wants it, so if he had a plan of 'peaking' in 3 or 4 years, the afc east may be the perfect place to do it.

As much as a goof and a douche waffle Ross is, he stays out of the way for daily operations. He isn't a Snyder or Jones or Davis.

Snyder hasnt been seen at all this past season. He's pretty much gotten the clue and went into a closet. If Ross could
Manage to do the same, it would be a great situation.
