should the saints call the falcons to find out what plays they should call on this drive so as to not run up the score?

  3. The Lions did have three TO's but down by 10 with less than 5 minutes left...............I understand the call.

Saints O-line reminds me of the cowboys o line of the early nineties.

According to Staffords passing yardage most the defenses he faced this year was a sieve. The Saints held them to 2 yards rushing in the second half. Megatron had a great game but he usually does. Detroit has more firepower than San Fran. I knew we would give up yardage. I doubt San Fran breaks 17 points. And about not facing a worse defense how about Green Bay? I am more confident cause Detroit has a very good front four and we handled them pretty well and ran the ball pretty damn good. Hope y'all noticed the run game. Guess it showed we do have a running game. Next week will the be the toughest challenge defense wise until the Super Bowl, if then.

    Matthew Stafford 36/59 520 5 2
    Calvin Johnson 11 244 1

So we gave him one more touchdown. But to me it seems like your defense was like a sieve also.

49ers also have a defense that is much better than the Lions...

Used to be that an excellent defense was the key to advancing in the playoffs. But now with the patsy rules I wonder if the superior QB and WR trumps a good defense.

San Fran does have a better defense but their offense isn't anything like Detroit. And as you saw last night the rules definitively favor the offense. Right or wrong, and I think wrong, that is how it is. Like Steve said, a great defense used to trump a great offense but not now. And I think that Detroit has a better front 4 than San Fran and you saw how the Saints handled them after the first half. Thing is you can stop the Saints a few times but he will get his. Can the 49ers match them touchdown for touchdown? I don't think so. The Saints will get touchdowns and the 49ers will get field goals. That is why I think they will win this game. Man, talk about switching places. Back in the 80's we were the ones with the great defense and San Fran was the one with a great offense. If you would say back then that 20 years later the roles would be reversed I would have laughed.
