After finishing 8-8 and missing the playoffs, Cowboys owner Jerry Jones said the Cowboys are going to make changes for next season. "We'll make some changes; I'll assure you we'll make changes," Jones said according to Rainer Sabin of the Dallas Morning News. "When you work for yourself, there's not but one thing to change -- that's what's in that mirror." "I've had to make some pretty drastic changes in my time," Jones said. "The only thing that stays consistent is, I've had this quarterback for 50-something years," Jones said, referring to his wife. "That doesn't change."

Hope it starts with Terrence (Toast) Newman. He's set to make just over $8 million. However, if the Cowboys release him, it will only cost the Cowboys half that.

He will make changes but don't expect him to sign a top tier Fa. The team is 20million over the cap.
Those Alabama middle linebackers sure would look good playing next to Lee.

  7. The whole secondary needs to be rebuilt................

Dallas would be wise to spend a No. 1 on a CB, particularly on Janoris Jenkins.

    That's not what I'm hearing.

The Cowboys have $20 million in "dead" cap money in contracts for players that don't even play here anymore, like MBIII, Leonard Davis, Andre Gurode, and Roy Williams.

    Inclulbus WE ARE! .. Marshall!

We had the money to sign Naamdi last offseason by cutting them players. How could we be over the cap? Especially once we save money by letting go of Terrence.

Then you got the players that we are losing, who's contracts will no longer be had.

Bradie James, Kitna, Elam, Brooking, McBriar, Alan Ball, And Possibly Spencer.

That's 14 million in those players. Who are all replaced for the most part, or will be come the draft. I Hope we keep Spencer. He has flashes of being really good.

First of all, we haven't cut Newman yet.

Second, IMO, Spencer is an example of a player who hasn't lived up to his potential.

True, but that is not our cap space

Our cap will be 18 million under

We have 20 FA's, most of whom wont be brought back, and most of our team is on rookie deals right now
