Donovan McNabb admitted Friday that he was expecting a call from the Chicago Bears after Jay Cutler went down with a fractured thumb on Nov. 20, but that call never came and the Bears lost five of their last six to miss the playoffs according to ESPNChicago. The Bears did put in a claim on Kyle Orton after he was released by the Denver Broncos, but the Kansas City Chiefs claimed Orton before he was available to the Bears. Meanwhile McNabb, a Chicago native who was released by the Minnesota Vikings on Dec. 1, watched Caleb Hanie lose four consecutive games for the Bears, who then turned to Josh McCown in losing their fifth straight. The Bears closed out the season with a win over the Vikes. "I thought the Bears would call," McNabb said on "The Waddle & Silvy Show" on ESPN 1000. "So many people continuously talked about the Mike Martz offense and things of that nature. I personally didn't care about that. If you want to win and win now, you go out and get a better quarterback and you cater your offense to his strengths, and obviously the strengths of your team. "Obviously it didn't work out well for them. It's unfortunate. I wish things would have worked out, but it didn't. We will see what happens from now on."

If he retired after 2010 I'd even still consider him a HOF QB. Then he just held on too long and completely ruined his legacy. In his defense though, I sure fire thought the Bears would have signed him. But I think it's time to call it a career. Don't pull a Brett.

Throughout his career hes had great seasons many playoff wins in the better part of his career he was one of the least intercepted qbs. He has the stats to be a hall of fame qb just cause alot of you dont like him as a person doesent mean he shouldent be in. You guys are looking at his one year with the skins and one year with the vikes like thats his whole career. He may have never won a superbowl but a guy named dan marino dident either

A guy named Dan Marino is infinitely better than Mcnabb. Marino was an elite QB when he played. McNabb was above average. Plus the system McNabb played in threw the ball 70% of the time. So his stats are boosted.

When mcnabb was good he was in that elite class and its not just me sayin that because on espn back in the day when they listed top 5 qbs mcnabb was on that list.

Its not just espn back then alot of people that listed there top 5 qbs had him on the list. Mcnabbs haters mostly look at his last 2 years and say hes a bum or watever but he has stats that should help him get in. Yes no superbowl but how many qbs can you say have been a part of 5 nfc championship games. Getting to those championship games piles up alot of playoff wins. You cant downplay playoff wins look at teams like the cowboys haveing 1 playoff win in more then a decade. He was a elite qb for us for about a decade and should get in.

Time to call it quits dude.

As for the HOF comments.. Not sure he is HOF material. Had some good years and put up some decent numbers. Just not sure he was good enough for the HOF.

I would put Drew Bledsoe in the HOF before McNabb. my .02

    bledsoe 251 td 206 picks
    mcnabb 234 td 117 picks

He may have a little more tds but almost a 100 more picks i would go with mcnabb
