With 2:29 seconds left in regulation time and the score tied in last night's NFC Championship game, 49ers cornerback Tramaine Brock made a stop on Giants running back Ahmad Bradshaw and linebacker NaVorro Bowman appeared to strip him of the ball. But head linesman Mark Hittner ruled Bradshaw's forward progress had been stopped and there was no fumble. That ruling meant that the play was not subject to review. The 49ers would have had the ball on the Giants 21 yard line and with a great opportunity to score and win in regulation time. Didn't matter the officials blew the whistle when someone pulled back on him, everything after that was nothing.
He was on top of the ninner when the other player stripped it but like Sweets said his forward progress was stopped and the whistle blew. I know 9er Nation wants to kill that punt returner , like most Texans wanted to kick JAcoby Jones butt. Crapty way to lose.

Sure, it looked like a fumble -- and to the average person who doesn't know the NFL rules about forward progress, it would be an understandable mistake. But it's kinda sad that Harbaugh is implying that the officials should have let the play go on and be considered a fumble even though it wasn't one.
