Cowboys owner Jerry Jones wouldn't get into prioritizing the team's off-season needs Monday -- the first day of Senior Bowl practices -- because he said it would create a competitive disadvantage for them in the draft and free agency according to Brandon George of the Dallas Morning News. Jones did say, however, that by releasing five offensive players before last season, the Cowboys have put themselves in a competitive position this off-season to add players via free agency. "We've done an outstanding job. I give Stephen [Jones] a lot of credit. We thought this would be Armageddon for us this year and we were able to do some things last year with the cap that really puts us and gives us some viability. Stephen and a lot of the crew he works with regarding the cap, regarding the contracts and all of that, has given us a chance to have some room to improve this team this year and we will use it. It's very important that we are highly competitive this year."

JJ said this at the senior bowl in Alabama...."there's nothing wrong with our team and players"....sounds like he wants to bring back the same players Terence Newman Bradie James Alan Ball ect..If that happens I'm done with this team and organization they're not serious about winning.

    please feel free to leave.

There are some real good FAs out there this year imo so I feel we have a good chance of making some good signings.

In today's Dallas Morning News, Cowboys Insider Brandon George doesn't think the Cowboys will draft a backup QB to Romo. So, it looks like they will try to get one with prior NFL experience. When NFL free agency begins on March 13, here is a list of QBs that will be available:

    Chad Henne
    Rex Grossman
    Jake Delhomme
    Jason Campbell
    Dan Orlovsky
    Brady Quinn
    Matt Flynn

The Packers really like Flynn, so he may be to pricey for the Cowboys to get.

    Thoughts?

Matt Flynn will have the chance to be a starter somewhere so he won't back up Romo.

    Sage Rosenfels or Shaun Hill

    Maybe Henne

Wouldn't mind any of those three backing up Ben in Pittsburgh. I think the Steelers stick with Leftwich. All three of those guys would be nice backups to Romo as well.

What are your thoughts on Dixon ,Ward?

See ya later Denny. I used to think he had a lot of potential. Kind of a weird throwing motion, but there was a time where I thought he was the long term answer to being a back up (and Batch coming off the bench in game if Ben was injured.). But after seeing Dixon recently, he seems to have regressed IMO and really seems out if place. At this point, I think I'd rather go with Leftwich and Troy Smith over Batch and Dixon....if you had to pair them up. I'd prefer they find a stronger back up candidate, but I think they'll be set on Leftwich...

Typical comment from a die hard cowboys fan...justnlook at how this roster is build. No back ups to push starters at their positions thats why there's so much mediocre performance on the field. Look at the last three drafts thats why this team is in a predicament it's in now signing a bunch of free agents.
