Stanford QB Andrew Luck Mini-Scouting Report

I literally could not disagree more. Flacco and Luck have almost nothing in common. Flacco's greatest strength is his arm strength and Luck is his intelligence.

There is no reason to think Luck won't improve and he already plays at such a high level. I mean think about the lack of good QB's in the league. He would be a top 20 QB if you think about it.

 

I mean you know we can agree to disagree haha I just would like to know why you think what you do.

 

how can anyone say hes just a good prospect but not the best? Physically hes on par with eli manning (1st overall), matt ryan (3rd overall), and aaron rodgers (most definitely should have been first overall ove alex smith then and now) and still has so much room to grow. From the neck up hes an all world QB prospect thats what separtates him...not his elite physical attributes like russell, vick, newton

 

Adam, I don't think anyone is saying that Luck doesn't appear to be about as NFL-ready as any QB can coming out of college. What we're pointing out is that Luck DOES have things he needs to improve upon in order to become the next Tom Brady or Peyton Manning and your comments seem to indicate that it's a foregone conclusion he's already there, which he's not.

The kid is going to have to put a lot of time and energy into fine-tuning his game and will need good coaching to get to an elite level in the NFL............... My comment about Joe Flacco is that if Luck stepped on the NFL field and didn't improve anything about his game, he would probably perform along the lines of a Joe Flacco or a Matt Ryan. He has many things he needs to improve as he matures in order to be elite.

 

Even if he didn't improve much right now he would still be a better prospect then Flacco. Flacco still can't read defenses. Flacco IMO is comparable to Alex Smith.

Luck is a good prospect but I don't see him as Elite yet. Even when Peyton Manning came out he wasn't elite it takes years of hard work and exp to get to that elite Level.

As for the throwing into double coverage thing. I agree what young QB doesn't. But at the same time to say negatives he really doesn't have any is crazy. He trusts his accuracy too much and throws into double coverage. His footwork tends to get sloppy which hurts him on some of his throws. Nothing that can't be coached up but those are some negatives IMO that I see in his game.

 

When I said no negatives I wasn't surprised he throws into double coverage. All young QB's do so I don't really see it as a negative. It is just something that will be coached out of him.

I think right now the day he is signed he is a top 18 QB in the NFL.
