While you're watching the big game today, keep your eyes peeled for an ad that will announce a new fantasy football game that the NFL will be doing in the 2012 season. It's called The Perfect Challenge. Here's a link: National Football League - NFL.com Free Fantasy Football
I'll play, but I don't know if I can be the commish. I may have to be laid up somewhere in the hospital. The 2012 season is so far away. I don't want to commit to do it, then something happens, and I'm not around to run it.
There was a little item about it in my local newspaper about it last Fri. It's not exactly like FF as you know it. I'll explain in about an hour from now. Gotta go now.
NFL.com unveils There's a good explanation. Basically every week you set a lineup of 1 QB, 2 RB, 2 WR, 1 TE, 1 K, and 1 D/ST unit. If you pick the top scoring fantasy player at every position in a week you win and qualify for a chance to win the $1million. There's also other prizes like a chance to go to next year's Super Bowl in New Orleans.
OK. Here are the basic rules for the game. You pick 8 players for your team. 1 QB 2 RBs 2 WRs 1 TE 1 K 1 DEF/ST The object is to pick the players that you think will score the most fantasy points at each position each week. Hence, the name The Perfect Challenge. Now as to the distribution of prizes, how the NFL will decide who gets what, I have no clue. If you find out, let us know. I do know that you can play as many, or as few weeks, as you'd like.
