Mike Freeman of CBS Sports reports that "everyone" he talks to in the NFL believes Peyton Manning will become a Redskin if and when he becomes a free agent. This comes on the heels of a weekend report from two people close to Manning saying "it is very likely" Manning will end up with the Redskins. It is clear both the Redskins and the Dolphins will pursue Manning. Redskins coach Mike Shanahan cannot afford another losing season if he wants to keep his job and for once the Redskins have plenty of salary cap room. Source: The Redzone
question, how the FREAK do the redskins have "plenty of salary room" EVER? the way snyder blows money and they still have room to work with but the steelers never spend and are 20 million over. this is bullcrap lol
I still think they're overlooking Manning's desire to win. The Redskins freaking suck and have holes everywhere, still doesn't make sense to me.
the skins have a pretty good defense but the lousy offense wore them down too many times. manning and a good move at WR could make a huge difference.
The biggest thing between Miami and the Redskins, Miami doesn't go against the sick front of the Giants or Ware and the Cowboys, or the ends of the Eagles.
Correct me if I'm wrong but weren't the Redskins in just about every game they played with Rex Grossman as their QB. Peyton Manning is infinetly greater than Rex, if Peyton Manning was on the Redskins they at least make the playoffs. Maybe sign another WR to go alongside Santana Moss, but Moss can ball. What they really need is a healthy Running Back.
Well I do know they started 3 and 1 with Rex they almsot beat the Patriots with Rex....thats REX. Peyton could easily make this team a contender.
eh, i'm sure there will be rumors having Peyton going to every team in the NFL by the time this is all said and done ................ hell, i'm not going to be surprised if someone claims he's going to new england or new orleans or green bay as a back-up .............. i'll believe it when i see it with any of the rumors surrounding this story.
theisman blasted this idea yesterday and the more i think about it the more i agree with him. the skins need to bloster that o-line as well as find a way to get the running game going. something tells me this would end up like most of the other FA moves the skins have made under snyder. so i say they should defninitely go for it ! :cope:
i've never thought the skins would be a good fit. they just aren't very close at all. would they win a lot more games with peyton? well, yes, but i would think you would only want to do this if you had a legit shot at a SB in the next couple of years.
