1. Indianapolis (2-14): QB Andrew Luck (Stanford)- turn the page on the Manning era. 2. St. Louis (2-14): OT Matt Kalil (USC)- I expect someone to trade up for RG3 but if they don't I expect them to take an OT. 3. Minnesota (3-13) : OT Riley Reiff (Iowa)- They are in desperate need for a legit LT. They took their QB last year with Ponder now they can protect him with a better option than Charlie Johnson. 4. Cleveland (4-12): QB RG3 (Baylor)- A team will trade up to take him at 2. I'm not going to even try and predict trades so that leaves Cleveland at 4 to take him. They have Colt Mccoy but for some reason seem unimpressed. 5. Tampa Bay (4-12): Trent Richardson (Bama)- With getting Schiano they get a coach who loves to run the ball. Right now they have Blount who is a decent option but far from elite. 6. Washington (5-11): Ryan Tannehill (Texas AM)- I expect the Skins to do one of three things. 1- trade up to 2 and draft RG3. 2- trade down and draft Tannehill. 3- Sign Manning. I'm not real high on Tannehill. 7. Jacksonville (5-11): Morris Claiborne (LSU)- Jacksonville had one of the worst secondaries last year. Claiborne is a stud and would normally go higher. 8. Miami (6-10): Quinton Coples (UNC)- Coples is a legit pass rusher and the Fins are moving to a 4-3 D and need a great pass rusher. 9. Carolina (6-10): Devon Still (Penn St.)- The Panthers hemorrhaged yardage last year and it was mainly due to a less than fantastic d.line and LB core. Still has a lot of potential but needs some refinement. 10. Buffalo (6-10): Melvin Ingram (South Carolina)- The Bills are moving to a 4-3 but they may use the 3-4 some. Ingram is a versatile player and would be great in Buffalo. 11. Kansas City (7-9): Jonathan Martin (Stanford)- This will give them the chance to move Albert to either LG or RT. 12. Seattle (7-9): Nick Perry (USC)- Seattle could use a pass rusher and Carrol can dip into his old talent pool and grab a good pass rusher. 13. Arizona (8-8): Courtney Upshaw (Bama)- Upshaw is a beast. Az has lacked a great pass rusher and Upshaw is versatile. 14. Dallas (8-8): Dre Kirkpatrick (Bama)- Dallas has been targeting Kirkpatrick for awhile. He is a tall CB who is a great talent. 15. Philadelphia (8-8): Michael Brockers (LSU)- Brockers is a good versatile player. They could use him at DE, DT, etc.... He fits what Reid does in being a DT and Philly rotate the D.line a lot. 16. New York Jets (8-8): Justin Blackmon (Ok St)- Some may be surprised he slips this low but their just isn't a good spot before here. The Jets could use a big wr to replace Plax. 17. Cincinnati - from Oakland (8-8): David Decastro (Stanford)- He is an elite player and I will probably have him going higher next mock draft. Cincy is in need of a lot of things but Decastro could be too good a value to pass up. 18. San Diego (8-8): Whitney Mercilus (Illinois)- Mercilus is a productive college player that many in scouting circles are not a fan of. The Chargers need a pass rushing LB. 19. Chicago (8-8): Michael Floyd (Notre Dame)- Floyd is a good prospect and I think he will have a better combine than people think. Ever since Mike Tice took over as OC he has stressed the need of a great WR. 20. Tennessee (9-7): Cordy Glenn (UGA)- The Titans need to give RB Chris Johnson some help up front. 21. Cincinnati* (9-7): Janoris Jenkins (N. Alabama) An immensely talented guy who has had major problems with weed. The Bengals won't mind as they are always willing to take chances. 22. Cleveland - from Atlanta* (10-6): Kendall Wright (Baylor) Wright is a speedy WR and that's one thing Cleveland's WR's have really lacked. 23. Detroit* (10-6): Vontaze Burfict (AZ. St) Burfict would be perfect for Detroit's system. He is athletic and can hit. He plays with a nastiness that Detroit could appreciate. 24. Pittsburgh* (12-4): Dont'a Hightower (Bama)- Pittsburgh really needs to start remaking an aging D. Hightower would be great in Pittsburgh. 25. Denver* (8-8): Lamar Miller (U of Miami)- They need to provide Tebow with as much as they can. As sad as it is for me to say Moreno is a bust and anything you get from him is a bonus. Mcgahee was great last year but can he repeat? 26. Houston* (10-6): Mohamed Sanu (Rutgers)- A versatile playmaker he would be great with Andre Johnson as Kevin Walter is average. 27. New England - from New Orleans* (13-3): Mark Barron (Bama)- The Pats won't risk having Barron picked before their second pick. Barron should step in immediately as soon as he is healthy and be a great starter for them. The NFL is a pass 1st league and it's obvious that the Pats secondary is not up to par. 28. Green Bay* (15-1): Jerel Worthy (Michigan St) I think GB will try and build some depth on the D.line. DE is a spot they can focus on since Pickett is a little older. 29. Baltimore* (12-4): Peter Konz (Wisconsin) He gives the Ravens a great young linemen to build around inside. It's unknown if Matt Birk will retire or not. If he comes back they could use Konz at OG which is also a need. 30. San Francisco* (13-3): Jared Crick (Nebraska) He would give them more rotation up front. 31. New England* (13-3): Reuben Randle (LSU) They need a great WR and Randle is very underrated. 32. New York Giants* (9-7) Luke Kuechly (Boston College) A FANTASTIC value pick here. Kuechly would immediately compete for a starting job and could get one.
The Jags defense was the strength of the team last year; I don't see them taking a CB that high, especially if Blackmon is still available. Love the Barron pick for NE. He's a complete safety and would be a great compliment to Chung. I'm not a fan of the Pats taking a WR in the first though, I'd rather them get a DE/DT and then go for WR later on in the draft if not in free agency. I think the Broncos reach a bit for Coby Fleener to give Tebow the safety valve he needs.
The strength was the ability to stop the run not the pbutt. Dwayne Allen from Clemson is much more likely and I almost had them taking him.
you are much too low on mike adams if you think hes gonna fall out of the first....i think top 15, maybe even top 10. hightower is a bad first rounder for the steelers...poe or konz there
Yeah i agree K-Train, i had Adams out of the first until i saw him at the senior bowl, he shut out everybody there besides that one coverage sack upshaw got, he'll def go higher in my next one. Great mock AW, one thing from my perspective...I think Schofield and Acho are just enough to keep Arizona from going olb in the first, i think they take any olineman they can get their hands on.
Eagles are going to draft either a LB or Michael Lloyd if he's there. We don't need DLine help in the draft. Andy knows what the issue is at this point and I honestly believe they address it this offseason.
duke - you do realize that reid has been stripped of most or all say on personnel moves right ? lurie said as much in his state of the team presser. the d-line could absolutely benefit from drafting brockers. the DE's are fine against the pass but don't fair so well against the run. you need a better DE out there on running plays than babin. also there is still no consistent pass pressure coming from the DT''s and you need that. plus the tackles themselves are still average against the run. brockers' versitilty to also play DE makes him too valuable to pass up for the eagles IMO. also the DT position has questions going into next season the following three guys are signed for next season; * mike patterson - should be back but he's not elite * cullen jenkins (has a $5mil "roster bonus" due) - best DT on the team hands down. i don't see how the eagles don't pay that and bring him back. * cedrric thorton (who?) the folowing guys are not singed for next season * anotonio dixon (RFA) - IF healthy i think the eagles look to bring him back * trevor laws - good bye * derek landri - probably gets re-signed - cheap cap hit
brockers would be an interesting pick, i just dont like him in a 43 as much as i do in a 34. that being said is a 43 team picked him up the eagles would be best. he would play inside most of the time but could line up a lot at LE
A) Andy Reid still has the final say when it comes to draft pick unless Jeffery Lurie tells him who to pick which he doesn't/will never do. UFA/RFA/UDFA/etc he might not have the final say but the draft will be all Andy. B) There's no way that Brockers is available at number 15. C) We need a LB more than a DT at this point. And we need Michael Floyd more so than a DT at this point.
Well I didn't do trades so I think a team could trade up for him but didn't see a good spot to put him. How? You guy's might be getting rid of Farrior and Foote. ILB is a huge need.
yeah that's a great point. It's definitely possible. The thing is is Whisenhunt keeps going on about Brown. Now that could be coach speak or he could really think Brown is good.
I couldn't disagree more. Reid hasn't gotten it before now and I don't think he will figure it out now. DT is a position of need in terms of rotation.
