Today I got to sit down and talk with an old 49er named Ed Beard. He lives near me in Virginia. It was kind of funny when a friend of mine asked me if I wanted to meet him because I was with my wife and mother-in-law at the time. My wifes mom was like Ed Beard as in the ex-NFL player. I was like thats the one. She then told me they were neighbors in Sandbridge Virginia(wealthy beach area) back in the day and that my wife and Mr. Beards daughter used to play together all the time. I was like damn, small world. Anyways, I really enjoyed meeting him and him telling me stories of Jim Brown, Johny Unitas and many other greats he played against. Really cool guy and he autographed a bunch of stuff for me. Really cool talking to someone from that era of football!!
