ESPN's Adam Schefter is reporting via Twitter that free agent wide receiver Randy Moss will fly to San Francisco today to workout for the 49ers on Monday. Schefter tweets: "Former Patriots wide receiver Randy Moss is scheduled to fly to San Francisco today to work out for the 49ers on Monday." It will be interesting to see how serious the 49ers are about signing Moss after Monday's try out. A hint to how serious they are could wind up being whether they decide to hold Moss overnight for a second day of workouts on Tuesday. Source: Adam Schefter, via Twitter
I'd much rather Moss than TO, but the real issue is getting him the ball on those fly routes. Alex does occasionally throw a beaut deep ball, but not often enough to really maximize the potential there or to make a defense really have to take it into account in a gameplan. If Moss does have anything left (which I am not sold on), SF/Alex would not be a good landing spot for him to showcase that and get paid. He's going to be taking an incentive contract wherever he goes, he must realize that even if he has the skill to reach those incentives, Alex can't get him the ball enough for those skills to matter and he aint gonna get paid as a result.
