The Philadelphia Eagles announced that they have traded offensive tackle Winston Justice to the Indianapolis Colts. The two clubs also swapped sixth-round picks as part of the trade, with the Eagles moving up from the 17th pick in that round to the 2nd. A second round pick out of USC by the Eagles in 2006, Justice has started 31 of his 47 games with the Eagles, but just one of six games in 2011, Justice became expendable following the Eagles' signing of Todd Herremans to a contract extension on Tuesday. Justice has two years and $7.125 million remaining on his current contract and is scheduled to earn $3.225 million in base salary in 2012. His trade clears $2.344 million in cap space for the Eagles. you'll need to explain what you're seeing in this move because all I see happening is that the Colts have now used up a starting spot with a mediocre, aging player who has never lived up to expectations ................... unless ............. Justice is extremely intelligent and a great teacher, in which case they may view him as the mentor who can teach the younger guys on their o-line that they're going to need to step up. He just never struck me as that type of guy. He couldn't even hold onto his starting position in Philly I believe.
As of now, the Colts need: a WR, TE, C, NT, DE, LB, S. They're already going to be stretched to find capable starters. Colts got a RT by swapping 6th round picks, and the Eagles are covering the guaranteed money, so the Colts can release him with no penalty. Also, can he play G? Thought Ijalana was penciled in at RT.
Captain: Change of scenery has revived careers of numerous players. Maybe a different system or a different line coach can get the best out of him. He was pencilled in as our starter last year if his butt could have gotten healthy before the year started. All they did was trade 6th rounders. If it doesn't work, who really cares.
