Tennessee Titans owner Bud Adams tells KHOU 11 Sports reporter Matt Musil that he has offered free agent quarterback Peyton Manning a contract "For Life" to stay in Tennessee. Manning was in Nashville on Wednesday to meet with Titans head coach Mike Munchak and other team personnel. Adams, who still lives in Houston, went on to say that because Manning is so well respected in Tennessee, he feels that it would be the perfect spot for the future Hall of Famer to sign. In addition to the Titans, Manning has visited the Denver Broncos, Arizona Cardinals and Miami Dolphins since being released by the Indianapolis Colts last week. Bud Adams added that he "feels great" about their chances to land Manning. Source: KHOU 11 TV
I really hope that Peyton decides to come help me here in Denver, but another part of me wants him to be happy.
um, it wouldn't be hard to offer him a contract 'for life' since peyton is only playing for a few more years at most .............
I imagine Bud Adams sitting behind a desk stroking a white cat and telling this to Payton. "I will give you a contract...........FOR LIVE. BWAHAHAHAHAHA"
Both Tenn and Denver offer great playoff chances, basically because their respected divisions are crap. However Tenn gets to play the Colts 2x each year.. A chance to go back to Indy and put it to the colts would be hard to pass up. I still say Miami is the best team for manning, but playing New England 2x a year and fighting them for playoff spots each year would not be advantageous.
I heard that the potential contract the Broncos will offer will not only match whatever Tennessee offers but also include an ownership clause that will give him part ownership when he retires...
That's what I said too. I think from what it sounds like, that Elway has something like that in his deal as well and that when an ownership group evolves, Elway and Manning will be in that group?
