The Denver Broncos have traded quarterback Tim Tebow to the New York Jets, Jay Glazer of FOXSports.com reports. According to Jason La Canfora, the Jets will send a fourth- and sixth-round pick to the Broncos in exchange for Tebow and a seventh round draft choice. In New York, Tebow would push 2009 first round pick Mark Sanchez, though he'll likely be a No. 2 quarterback who is used in certain offensive packages, such as the "Wildcat", which first-year offensive coordinator Tony Sparano used frequently while with the Miami Dolphins in 2008. Tebow is signed through the 2014 season and is due base salaries of $1.15 million in 2012, $6.055 million in 2013 and $7.145 million in 2014. Source: Mac's Football Blog
Those extensions are meaningless, they can probably still cut Sanchez whenever they want without getting hit hard on their cap
WORST.MOVE.EVER! That's just a dumb trade. It makes NO sense especially after signing the giant contract. Way to go morons!
The Jets are a joke and a three ring circus. They certainly did not get Timmy to win football games. They got Timmy to sell jerseys and tickets. Woody Johnson is so jealous of the New York Football Giants he would sell his soul to the devil for media publicity if he has not already done so.
Sanchez Psyche is very fragile this will only heck with him heavily. I can already see him getting booed after his first interception. This looks like the implosion of the Jets happening right in front of us
Yeah there are some wrinkles in the contract that might nullify this trade involving the Jets having to pay some money to the Broncos
I'd pull for Timmy the day he becomes a competent enough to justify the absolutely ludicrous type and amount of coverage he receives. Which means he'd have to combine the greatness of Jerry Rice, Joe Montana, John Elway, Lawrence Taylor, Mike Singletary, Walter Payton, Barry Sanders..........
