The trade sending quarterback Tim Tebow and a seventh round pick from the Denver Broncos to the New York Jets in exchange for fourth and sixth round draft picks has been delayed by 24 hours, Manish Mehta of the New York Daily News. The trade was already held up while the Broncos and Jets negotiated the repayment of the 2012-14 portions of the $6.2775 million salary advance that Tebow received early in the 2011 league year. That advance took money from the final four years of the deal, including $1.4525 million from 2012, $1.69125 million from 2013 and $1.92 million from 2014. To finalize the trade, the Jets agreed to repay half of that $5,063,750 back to the Broncos. $1.5 million will be paid in 2012 with the remainder paid in 2013. Tebow will be required to sign a re-written contract with the Broncos and remain on their salary cap before the trade can be submitted for league approval.

Anyone else think its weird that the Jets are having a huge press conference for a "back up" QB? When was the last time a back up QB flew on a private jet and had a press conference to introduce him? Not only that, but had the presser delayed three days so as not to interfere with the basketball tourney...lol...

We all know this isn't a footballing move. Never before have I seen a transaction in elite level sport that is based purely on generating publicity.

It's pathetic, an embarrassment to the Jets fans and even though you wouldn't believe me to say this, but it's an insult to Tebow.
