In his letter to Rams defensive coordinator Gregg Williams, Roger Goodell has given Williams a clear path how to get reinstated in 2013 according to Peter King of SI.com. The commissioner wrote thusly to Williams on Wednesday: "I will review your status at the conclusion of the 2012 season and consider whether, and if so, on what terms, you may be reinstated and again eligible to be employed in the NFL. In making this decision, I will give considerable weight to the extent to which you cooperate with my office in any further proceedings, as well as developing and implementing programs designed to teach players and coaches -- particularly at other levels of the game -- how to play football in a way that is safe, fair, and that respects the game and those who participate in it ... I appreciate that this decision will be difficult for you. I hope you will use the opportunity to reflect on how you can return to the NFL in a way that honors the game and improves it for those who participate in it.'' Sounds like if Williams makes some come-clean speeches to high school and college football teams around the country at the NFL's behest, he'll be back in the game in 2013 -- assuming the Rams will still employ him. That's likely, but not certain. Source: The Redzone
Honestly I don't think Goodell is looking for snitches at this point, Williams has a lot of repairing to do and he needs to start now.
by "snitch" you mean tell the truth as to who was involved. Seriously, this isn't a street gang or mafia family... It's the NFL. The NFL will never be perfect, but keeping dirty coaches & players out of the game will help.
I don't think out should be as easy as making some stupid speeches to high schoolers about how bounties are bad.
For me, this bounty program is worse than that NBA official that was blackmailed to pay back gambling debts. Coach/Officials should be held to a hire standard than your common every day street thug who doesn't snitch... It's not like these are little kids that are tattling on their playmates about who picked his/her nose. These are adults basically putting out a hit on another adult... Basically if I was to say hire someone to come break your leg, or take out your knee caps and you knew about my contract you'd not let the authorities know anything about it. If this is the society we are living in, then something needs to change drastically.
Could Goodell sound more condescending?? He fires the guy and then tells him that he can come back when he "reviews his status"? You fired him, jackass!!! What status is he talking about?
& that, if allowed back, you will never endeavor to harm, or maim in any way, the fan favorite, money making, elite athletes that fill the NFL owners coffers every Sunday.
and if you do decide to harm or maim those players PLEASE don't get caught next time because we the NFL hate having to look like condescending jackasses.
