New York Jets owner Woody Johnson declared that, despite acquiring Tim Tebow from the Denver Broncos last week, Mark Sanchez is the team's starting quarterback. "I’m going to be very clear: Mark Sanchez is our starting quarterback. Period. That’s it," Johnson told reporters from ESPN New York and the New York Daily News. "He’s our starting quarterback. He’s going to be a good NFL player. Just like he’s been. There’s no reason to suspect that Mark will be any different this year than he’s been the last 10 years he’s played the game. He’s been a very consistent performer his whole career." Johnson pointed to the team's decision to extend Sanchez's contract -- a three-year extension that occurred after the Jets were ruled out of Peyton Manning race and before the Tebow acquisition -- as a sign of the team's confidence in the fifth overall pick of the 2009 NFL Draft. "We wouldn’t sign him and put him on a long term contract extension," Johnson added. "That’s a demonstration of our confidence."

This is why trading for a Tebow is a stupid move. They are going to answering questions about this all year unless Sanchez wins the MVP.

Honestly Tebow fans would still be asking questions like this even if they won the Superbowl and Sanchez threw for 6000 yards.
