St. Louis Rams coach Jeff Fisher said today that the Browns at No. 4 are "a potential trade partner'' for the Rams despite the Browns' failed attempt to move up to No. 2 with the Rams to draft Robert Griffin III according to Mary Kary Cabot of the Cleveland Plain Dealer. Fisher said Browns President Mike Holmgren's comments about the Rams and Redskins pulling off the blockbuster deal for No. 2 because of their close relationships wouldn't preclude a draft day deal. The Rams now have the No. 6 pick as the result of that deal. "No, I didn't pay much attention to (Holmgren's) comments,'' said Fisher, speaking at the NFL owners' meetings in Palm Beach. "They were very fruitful discussions. They are a potential trade partner with us.'' Fisher acknowledged it would be ironic for the Rams to trade back up with the Browns considering what's transpired. "Yeah, I would think so,'' he said. "I don't know if we'd consider going that high. Those conversations aren't going to take place until draft day because your guy's got to be there. It'll be interesting to see what kind of compensation they want. We're very happy with the compensation we've got right now over the next couple of years.'' Fisher said it's very realistic that they'll move from No. 6, either up or down.

Wouldn't be surprised if a little animosity grew between these two teams. Its weird that they'd consider this if they really feel spurned by the Rams, but they'll have their plan in place.

eh, the rams aren't trading back up.............. they'll probably expect either the browns or the bucs to step on their rod and draft richardson, leaving either blackmon or claibourne at #6 and even if the browns and bucs don't make a dumb move, they can just take one of the good d-lineman that will be there.

the rams have so many holes to fill, they don't need to sweat it. a good talent they need will be there at 6

Ya really. Why trade up two spots? They obviously like one of the other top players very much.
