With the latest developments in the Saints bounty scandal -- an audio clip of a 2011 pregame playoff speech from Gregg Williams -- the future of the former Saints defensive coordinator looks even worse. Many people believe he could (and should) get a lifetime ban and you certainly could understand why some of the quarterbacks and players who he targeted would feel that way. But at least one of them -- Cardinals quarterback turned NFL Network analyst Kurt Warner -- doesn't feel that way, and believes that Williams deserves a second chance. He tweeted: "All this talk about Gregg Williams receiving a "LIFETIME" ban from NFL... I disagree, we all deserve a 2nd chance! What r ur thoughts?" Warner was one of the players named specifically in the NFL's investigation that Williams' defense targeted, along with Brett Favre, Cam Newton and Aaron Rodgers.

i still say many are missing the real problem the nfl has with williams & the saints which was the blatant disregard of their warnings to the team and the "heck you" goodell attitude that was displayed.

Anyone that has done this crap in multiple places and dumb enough to get caught does not deserve a second chance in my book. Williams will likely get a second chance but he shouldn't.

He pretty much got his second chance already when Goodell told them to stop the shenanigans the first time. Like smeagle said...therein lies the major problem Goodell has with the Saints and Williams.

Even if Williams is reinstated, who would risk hiring him? He is pretty much black balled now.

A secondary league could use him for marketing purposes?

you know, i heard a lot of people give that as the reasoning for the 'severe' penalties. If they had evidence and did nothing originally except 'warn' them but then got really pissed when the saints didn't stop, then shouldn't we all be calling goodell and the league hypocrites because that means this has nothing to do with player safety and everything to do with a team simply not 'falling in line' .............. which kind of makes sense considering the severity of the non-salary cap punishments against the redskins and cowboys.

doesn't it seem like more and more the league is just goodell being a dictator and if players, coaches, or teams don't 'fall in line' with what he says, they are severely punished?

oh, crap. now we're going to have 27 pages of 'ratings' for kurt's wife.

i need that sly stallone closing the door quickly gif right about now.
