Bears RB Matt Forte Won't Participate In Any Team Functions Without Long-Term Deal

Adam Schefter of ESPN reported on Sportscenter Wednesday that Chicago Bears franchise running back Matt Forte will not participate in any team functions until he signs a long-term deal with the team. "He's not signing anything until he has a long-term deal," emphasized Schefter. "And until he has that ... you will not see Matt Forte in Chicago." The frustrated Forte camp had remained relatively quiet on the issue until the Bears went out and signed Michael Bush. Now Forte is entrenched for at least the next few months while the Bears seem content to let him twist in the wind on the one-year franchise tender.

Don't blame him. And won't blame the Bears when they refuse.

I wasn't surprise to see that... Of course he wont sign a new deal... give him more $$$ or longer deal and he will sign....

    I would blame the Bears...

They've done the usual team posturing on the importance of him being a Bear but have then used him like a rented mule without the contract.

Forte has to grow up & realize the greedy 2 faced life in the NFL but player immaturity still doesn't exonerate teams from the blatant BS they spew on a regular basis.

Tark he's franchised this year (I think) so they don't have to do a damn thing.

    True

& as a 'business', they did what they wanted to do which was their right.

Once again, doesn't exonerate them from all the BS they spewed for the last year & 1/2 before he was franchised.

    No honor among thieves...
