Broncos wide receiver is widely-known for his 80-yard touchdown catch and run to beat the Pittsburgh Steelers, but Thomas wasn’t too fond of the guy who made the throw, ex-Broncos quarterback Tim Tebow. “It’s a business decision,†Thomas said of Tebow, via SportsRadioInterviews.com. “I ain’t going to say I was sad because the only thing they remember is that pbutt. You gotta go back and look at the rest of the games. I wasn’t getting no balls and you had to make some of these plays where some players were open and he is not making the throws, but I don’t want to talk bad about Tim, but hey I am happy we got Peyton [Manning].†Thomas went on to say that he and other teammates were fed up with the Tebow coverage. “Everything on ESPN was all about Tim,†Thomas said. “That bothered some players too because they would say ‘Tim Tebow Time.’ I felt like it was a team thing. If it wasn’t for the defense most of the time there wouldn’t be no supposed ‘Tim Tebow Time.’†Still, Thomas acknowledged that Tebow was a good teammate, even if he couldn’t make all the plays under center. “You would have people calling him out saying, ‘Tim you gotta make that throw. You gotta read the defenses better,’†Thomas said. “Players on offense trying to get him better.â€

I hope skip bayless has a heart attack and dies on first take.

This is going to get blown way out of proportion. Even if it its all completely true and spot on.

Tebow may be a crapty QB, but without his offense Thomas didn't have to learn how to run real routes, I see a drop in production.

Ridiculous. Thomas had 32 catches last season. Chances are he's going to be the number 1 guy next season with a legitimate passer to catch from. His production, baring injury or a slide down the depth chart, is only going to go up.

Oh, and everything Demaryius said about Tebow is true.

yep, i heard this yesterday. it will probably get blown out of proportion because it's something about tebow.

but, i agree with andy. I anticipate ALL of their receivers/tight ends will be more productive this season, simply because they will be throwing the ball (in a pro-style offense) twice as much as they did last season.

No crap. They go from tebow to Manning and you expect a drop in production? Seriously?

I call for Thomas to have no more than 50 catches and 800 yards and 6 TD's.

Look at how the AFC West defenses were re-strucking to stop the option offense Denver had... Since Manning was signed in Denver, the number of defensive cuts and changes in the AFC West is most in the NFL.

huh? thomas was 32/551/4 last year ................ 50/800/6 would be a significant INCREASE and I think the Broncos would be happy with that.

Caldwell, Tamme, and Decker are in the mix too so if between those 4 main guys they go combined 250/2800/20, manning and the broncos will be very happy with the receiver production in 2012 and they will win a lot of games if their defense is still solid.

Thomas seems to be talking himself as elite, which he isn't. Those numbers are best case scenario.

oh, well, yes, i would agree that thomas thinking of himself as 'elite' is ludicrous at this point. hell, he couldn't even consistently earn a starting job in his first 2 years in a suspect receiving corps and i wouldn't be surprised if he is their 3rd wr heading into this season once again.

yes, absolutely, there are many question marks about this guy but manning makes most receivers he's with a lot more productive so i would expect to see all of their receivers 'stats' increase immediately, including thomas. but if he can't thrive with manning and the passing game they will operate next year, then he may be done in this league.

I think Thomas will be nothing more than a decoy, he still can't run routes, and that's what Manning needs.

Hes not a gamechanger but I could see Decker having a crapload of catches this year with Manning at the helm.

  17. CaptainStubing

CaptainStubing Gave her a Dirty Sanchez

yep, i could see decker and tamme being the main guys and racking up 80-100 catches each and then caldwell and thomas battling as the 3rd option.

For all of you Morris Claiborne defenders, I'd like you to know that even this guy scored a 34 on the Wonderlic. THIRTY-FOUR.
