As of Thursday night, cornerback Morris Claiborne was the only draft pick from the Cowboys' 2012 class yet to agree to a contract. Cowboys owner and general manager Jerry Jones said Tuesday that he expects to have the sixth overall selection signed by the time training camp begins in late July. Cowboys executive vice president Stephen Jones said Wednesday that the team and Claiborne's agent, Bus Cook, are working through some details. "I don't see any reason to be alarmed or concerned," Stephen added. Claiborne didn't seem alarmed or concerned about his rookie deal following the final day of mini-camp at Cowboys Stadium. "I'm not worried about that right now," Claiborne said Thursday. "Everything that I've been hearing has been going good, so right now those guys are the professionals out there. I like to be knowing what's going on but I leave it up to them and let those guys handle that." What exactly has he heard? i'm not sure why so many of these draft picks remain unsigned almost 60 days after the draft. with the new rules, they're pretty much slotted at a certain pay rate. what are we arguing about here?
We had to wait until June first when Newmans money came off the books to free up cap. I think that may be the case with alot of teams
why do you say he is going to be a bust? He has the talent. Size and speed. And I don't think he is going to get paid and then relax. He worked his butt off at LSU to improve. I have watched every game except the ones they showed on TigerVision and he is the real deal. All db's get burned now and then. As much as I do not like the Cowboys, purely from growing up in Louisiana and seeing nothing but Cowboy stuff in the stores, they got them a very good corner. I mean he switched to corner from receiver in 2010 and won the Jim Thorpe award two years later. And he loves to come up and defend the run and not like Deion. He will put a hat on the runner. Guess people just hate anyone from LSU. They have had a highly ranked defense for years and he was a major part for three years.
