Suspended New Orleans Saints coach Sean Payton filed for divorce from Beth Payton, his wife of nearly 20 years, according to The Times-Picayune. The petition was filed in Tarrant County, Texas on June 14, the Paytons' anniversary is July 11. The Times-Picayune cites court documents that seek to protect each person's identity by using initials – 'PSP' for Sean and 'BAP' for Beth. While the coach is seeking joint custody of their two children, Beth filed a counter-petition asking the court to schedule the his time with the children, "as necessary to protect the health and well-being of the children." The couple have long maintained a residence in Texas since Sean Payton was an assistant coach with the Dallas Cowboys. Source: USAToday
This was in the making for a long time. She moved to Texas a while back while he stayed here. He also had a coaches show with a young woman and suddenly the show is no longer being made. Perfect timing though. Get it over with now and not later when he is coaching. Might be a blessing. I mean. if they are going to get a divorce. Sucks for the kids though. Can tell it is going to be messy.
