Can this current group of guys heading to London score more points than arguably the greatest team ever assembled in a hypothetical, organized game of basketball?

Naturally, Kobe Bryant thinks it can.

"It'd be a tough one, but I think we'd pull it out," the Team USA guard told reporters during practice on Monday.

Kobe conceded that the Michael Jordan-led Dream Team, which was comprised of NBA legends and Christian Laettner, would have the size advantage. But where the 2012 squad lacks in size, it makes up with athleticism.

And isn't the argument when comparing teams from different eras that teams from today have an advantage because they're vastly more athletic? Kobe also pointed out that Magic Johnson and Larry Bird were at the end of their careers in 1992.

Thanks for the chuckles, Bryant. Today's already looking better than I first thought...

Win some sort of freaking medal before you talk. The Dream Team destroyed every team they faced to coast to a Gold. These freaking clowns and their 'me-first' attitude will likely get their asses kicked once again.

    They won gold last olympics.

Did the dream team every win by less than 25? I think they averaged like a 28 point margin of victory our something. There won't ever be a better team.

For some reason I thought they got Bronze last time.

Doesn't change the fact that they need to win a medal this go-round before he starts yakkin' about beating the best team ever assembled.

There's more talent Internationally now than there was during the Dream Team's runs. I don't think their average margin of defeat would be what it was. They'd win it still though. If the 2012 team had better big men, I would say they would probably be able to pull it out over the dream team though. Players all around are better now, than they were then with the exception of MJ. But that's just my opinion.

I don't agree... Jordan, Bird, Magic, Pippen, Drexler, Barkley, Malone, Ewing...

Durant, Kobe, LeBron, Williams maybe Westbrook... No Wade, Howard, Rose makes it invalid.

I am not sure why any comparison should be made. 1992..2012. 20 years difference. A lot of changes since then.
