Cowboys wide receiver Dez Bryant's mother has told authorities that she doesn't want to pursue a case against her son after an argument allegedly turned violent. A Dallas County district attorney's spokeswoman says the case DeSoto police filed against Bryant includes an affidavit of non-prosecution from the complainant. The affidavit means the complainant doesn't want to proceed. Police in the southern Dallas suburb arrested Bryant last week after a July 14 incident in which he allegedly hit his mother, Angela Bryant, across the face with a ball cap. A police affidavit says Bryant grabbed his mother by her T-shirt, causing her bra to tear.

I was hoping that would happen. Now, let's see if the Dallas County DA agrees.

I'd rather have Robinson back than Dez. Dez has only one game in which he had more than 100 yards in receiving since he's been a Cowboy.

In TDs, Robinson was better. In 1011, he had 11 TDs. In 2011, Bryant had 9 TDs. The year before, he had 6.

Stats dont mean crap. Bryant has 10x the talent of Robinson and the potential to be one of the best WR's in the league when he gets it together on the field, which he's pretty freaking close to doing. Robinson has the talent of a good #2 that puts up occasionally big numbers if he has a top flight WR playing across from him. If you can't see that then yes, you are an idiot.

    This.

In 2011, there were 82 NFL WRs that had 100-yard games. Dez Bryant was not one of them. He needs to show that he can make headlines on the field, not just off.

This is only his third yr. granted his first year he didn't have full training camp. Wr are one of the slowest positions to develop.

Can't compare a we who's Carter's spans only two yrs to one that has spent it with 3-4 different teams

If he was that good why hadn't he broke out and gotten himself a long term deal

Jax over paid for robinsons services

dez is poised for a breakout year imo. its only gonna get better for him, hes a top 5 talent in the near future. his legal problems are way overblown just riding the waves left by all his character concerns coming out of college. he has been kicked out of a mall, owes some jewelers, and should have hit his mom harder, shes a freaking leech

He sure isn't making it easier for himself with his ongoing drama. The leash is short on him. He's run out of mulligans.

This. Look at the things that he's done. Each thing is worse than the previous thing he did. I predict there will be something else before the season is done.

Look at some of the other WRs in the league:

Demaryius Thomas-Broncos: He already has a 200-yard game to his credit.

    Kenny Britt-Titans: Ditto.

Percy Harvin-Vikings: Invited to the Pro Bowl in his first year.

Hakeem Nicks-Giants: 1,000 yard season in his second year.

    Dwayne Bowe-Chiefs: Ditto.

None of these WRs carried the talent grade of Bryant coming in to the league, but they've done a lot more than he has. Bryant is long overdue.

Thomas 200 yard game was an abortion of a performance by ike taylor, hes been very average

britt is a stud when healthy

harvin is a slot WR and was invited as a return man

    nicks is a stud

    bowe is a solid WR

i dont get where these comparisons are coming from, especially considering its not like dez has been a huge disappointment. He was a year removed from football when he was drafted, no one expected him to come in and be randy moss. 3rd year is usually the key year for WRs. Dez is 23 years old, hes got plenty of time to establish himself as among the best. Calvin, Green, Jones, Dez are going to be the top WRs in the league soon imo, andre and fitz arent getting younger
