Whether baseball's tarnished home run king is a Hall of Famer won't be determined for months, but in Barry Bonds' mind, he belongs in Cooperstown."Oh, without a doubt. There's not a doubt in my mind," Bonds said in a recent interview with MLB.com at San Francisco's AT&T Park. The Hall of Fame ballot will be released in November. Final voting will be announced in January. Bonds will be appearing on the ballot for the first time, alongside fellow greats such as Mark McGwire, Sammy Sosa and Roger Clemens, who also were connected to performance-enhancing drugs during their careers.

Yeah, they should get 2 busts commissioned: one from the Pirates days and one from the Giants so baseball fans can compare the change in head size for all eternity.

& which MLB embraced till it didn't serve their purpose anymore. Cut the hypocrisy & judge them on the #s like always.

Leave it up to the fans to decide if they agree or laugh till they're blue in the face...

Screw this and heck him. Don't care to hear crap from Barry anymore, not a word, unless he's apologizing for lying and admitting all the other grimy crap he's done

valid point about MLB but the BBWAA didn't allow the PEDs to go unchecked and that's who votes. we could discuss how the system is flawed as a result but thats another discussion. plus how can you judge #'s that were acheived by cheating ? that's the issue.

bonds though, is unique out of that group of roid-droids as he had the numbers to get in before he cheated. his issue of getting in will come back to the flaws of allowing reporters decide who gets in as they all hate his guts.

i agree Bonds had good numbers before he cheated but i think once you cheat you shouldnt be allowed in the Hall in my oppinnion. dont put A Rod in either in my oppinnnion keep everyone out that have cheated

Then you might as well clear out the whole freaking thing. "Cheating" to gain a competitive advantage has been going on as long as the game has existed, and you're naieve if you think basically all those players didnt participate in some way or another along the way. Spitballs, greaseballs, corks, spiked cleats, crooked umpires, throwing games for pay, sign stealing, amphetamines, anabolics, hgh, designer steroids. Its as much a part of the game as white leather, red thread and ash trees, and to try and separate all the "cheaters" out would be both futile and bad for the sport as a whole.

that's all fine and well but if you get caught you don't get in.

Flawed it is & yes, another discussion altogether but you hit the nail on the head with the following:

That's why I think you just go with the #s. Throwing out some of them still gets him in except the writer's hatred like you said. That bias alone taints the process.

agreed. if you go by bonds' pre-roid numbers he's still a 1st ballot HOFer but i cant go with the idea of who cares that he cheated. i'd personally never vote for someone that cheated ... be it PED's, spitballs or whatever.

btw - i laugh at people who gripe about stealing signs and call it cheating. if the other team can figure out your signs that on you.

now of course the exception to this is what the phillies bullpen coach was doing by using binoculars to figure them out.

Not much of a baseball lover anymore. Call me old school but when they started jacking 70 homers in a season looking like bodybuilders it turned me off. Guys like Ken Griffey Jr tried to do it the right way and he was hamstrung by injuries. Such a shame. He could have had the home run record if not for that. And he would have been a better ambassador for the game.

no doubt about griffy. i was a huge fan of his.

bottom line is bonds has put himself in the position of probably not getting in the hall because of his cheating and his heck you attitude about the whole thing.

all i know is if he gets in pete rose sure as heck better too.

What pisses me off is that Pete Rose didn't do anything that actually affected his records. He played hard. Same thing with Joe Jackson. If Bonds goes in I'll drive my butt to Cooperstown to boo him along with the hundreds of others. It'd be a travesty to the game. Screw Barry Bonds and Screw Mark McGwire.

If he's being considered it is baseballs fault. They knew what was going on and let it happen.

But youre okay with watching football? Because 6'4" 275 pound human males running 4.4 40s and putting up 50 reps at 300 is toooooootally natural.

yes. of course. they are freaks of nature. you build up your body for football. not baseball.

Bonds isn't getting in just like Mark McGwire, Sammy Sosa, Rafael Palmeiro, Jose Canseco, and Manny Ramirez.
