The procedure performed Tuesday to alleviate swelling and soreness in the left knee of Brian Urlacher was not the first this offseason for the Bears’ franchise middle linebacker, CSNChicago.com has confirmed with two NFL sources. Urlacher had a procedure done shortly after the end of the 2011 regular season, with the injury occurring late in the Jan. 1 loss at Minnesota, sources said. It was similar to the non-invasive procedure that was done this Tuesday. One source told CSNChicago.com that Urlacher in fact had a second procedure done last spring. The concerns now become two-fold: whether Urlacher will be sufficiently recovered for the Sept. 9 start of the regular season against Indianapolis, and whether the knee will recover sufficiently between NFL games to allow him to play close to a full season. Not at all surprising (considering I eluded to this one of the previous threads on this matter). If you suffer knee injury and there is still problems eight months later, it's a high level sprain or a botched recovery procedure (I guess both). Either way, it doesn't look good for Urlacher and the Bears, because quite honestly, I can't see him playing in September.
Knee wasn't going to magically turn 23 again & being a 'valet' for Bimbette Mccarthy was a short gig to begin with. Oh, & the Bears being truthful about anything is tied to the Apocalypse if I recall. Nothing to see here, folks, move along....
