Michael Vick left tonight's preseason game against the Patriots after he was hit by Patriots linebacker Jermaine Cunningham. Vick played less than two series and was injured when he tried to throw a deep pass to wide receiver DeSean Jackson and Cunningham tackled him to the ground. Vick got up but was in obvious pain and took a knee. He came out of the game after Eagles trainers looked him over and headed to the locker room. Source: Philadelphia Inquirer

he was making decent plays when the starting defense was still in there and its not about just that has a good grasp of our offense

Not a direct bash on Vick, but Jesus Christ, can't today's QB' go through a game without a turf toe, rib contusion, bruised thigh, turf nose or some other injury that prevents them from playing the next week. You do have a point. But the protective gear wasn't nearly as sophisticated as it is now.. So I think it evens out.
