If his knee wasn't an issue, I think they would have brought him in for a look immediately. Best available QB IMO.
Of all the opinions, this would make the most sense. While they're shopping for another possible QB, they may also want to shop around for someone's castoff O-Lineman that just may be better than what they've got. New O-Line coach while they're at it.
