Matt Forte, the Chicago Bears' leading rusher the past four seasons, has a high ankle sprain, which likely will sideline him several weeks, according to Adam Schefter of ESPN. That is tough news for the Bears, coming off a disjointed offensive performance during Thursday night’s 23-10 loss to the Green Bay Packers. Now the Bears’ offseason acquisition of running back Michael Bush, who was signed to a $14 million deal to be their short-yardage and relief back, looks even more important. Bush becomes the Bears’ No. 1 running back until Forte returns, and Bush sounds eager to accept that challenge. “That’s why I’m here: They brought me here to pick up where (Forte) off, if something went wrong,†Bush told the Chicago Tribune. “It’s the insurance plan, I guess. I’ll be ready.†Source: Sporting News
He was snitching about losing goal line carries to Bush now he lost all his carries to Bush for a bit lol This certainly hurts the Bears though.
i think bush can carry the load for them looked great yesterday when he did play. Sucks for forte owners in fantasy football.
I think the Bears will be ok. This is just one of a few reasons why they signed Bush in the first place. I heard anywhere from 2-6 weeks for Forte and one of those weeks (week 6) is our bye week.
Yea they are set up to handle his absence much better this year than they were last year. But what happens if Bush dominates while Forte is out?
