Only a precious few people will ever know exactly how it looked when Miguel Cabrera, one of baseball's reluctant superstars, finally celebrated history 45 years in the making. Cabrera had slipped away Wednesday night to the visiting clubhouse at Kauffman Stadium where he waited out the final moments in his bid for the Triple Crown. Once everything transpired, all the other possibilities played out, he could finally revel in the feat. "It was like, everybody said to me it was unbelievable," said Cabrera, who was joined in the clubhouse by Prince Fielder, Justin Verlander and a few other teammates. "They were excited to see this, enjoy this, be a part of something big, and winning, I feel better." Yes, the American League Central champs managed to beat the Kansas City Royals 1-0, but the outcome of the game was secondary to the true drama that unfolded on the field. Source: ESPN
Miggy has always had the talent, he was just really lazy, if Leland was able to whip him into shape I say 0, plus having Prince batting behind him helped a lot.
i hope people understand what a great accomplishment this is. i hope nothing comes out later cause baseball needs this. i think you hit it on the head MJ. between leland and fielder things aligned for migel and he did the work. congrats !
i was at the game last night. the k.c. fans gave him a standing ovation. it had not happened since i had was born and may not happen again in my life. it is a great accomplishment.
I've always liked this kid. Had he kept off the juice(like Kool Aid) and actually took care of himself he'd of always been a beast. He's always done pretty good but I'm glad that he it. Way to go!
