Jeff McLane of the Philly Inquirer responded to a question regarding Nnamdi Asomugha future will the Eagles by suggesting that he a “slimâ€￾ chance of returning and would most likely have to take a pay cut.

Since his arrival in Philadelphia, Asomugha has been a huge disappointment.

Asomugha, 31, is considerably slower now than he was with Oakland and his poor tackling ability is a major concern. He signed a five-year deal worth $60 million and includes $25 million in guarantees back in 2011. He’s set to make $15 million next season, so there’s a good chance that he’s approached to either renegotiate his contract or possible be released.

ive said it a long time ago

this guy is one of the most overrated players in the nfl

when he was called this elite corner in oakland people said no one would throw at him because he was so good welll in all reality he might have been the best player on the team but he still wasnt elite

I'm disappointed in his play because the expectations are very high... but he isn't terrible. He needs to take a paycut, absolutely, but I like the combo of him and DRC. Last year was bad because of the zone scheme he wasn't meant to play, and he has had too many blown plays this season. Hoping he can get his crap together soon.

eh, this guy may be done ............... sometimes, when it 'goes' for a skill player, it 'goes' pretty quickly.

in my oppinnion he may not be the only one who have a slime chance of being an eagle after this season. I think this team needs to clean house and start fresh next year

If by clean house you mean get rid of like 5 or 6 guys you're spot on. No reason to blow up a great team. It just needs some direction.

Vick, Aso, maybe Babin, Demetrius Bell, King Dunlap(he should be dropped to the bottom of the ocean like Megatron. The movie one not the Lions one.)

Hasn't the entire Eagles O-line been injured this entire season?

True. 4/5 of the lineup for Sunday is different than it was back in August.

He's gone so far down hill since he's left Oakland last year, oh it's the zone scheme he's not supposed to be playing that. Okay he's playing man to man press now, and he's still getting torched here and there I honestly think he's done, as Ward said sometimes when it all goes, it goes.

well, let's make sure we're defining 'done' the same way........... i'm saying that asomugha is going the way of champ bailey ........... he will never be the dominant force he once was in the league but i'm sure some team will keep him around even though he will be performing at an average level ............. he will just always be overrated because of his 'name' ............... like champ bailey.

but his days of being a great CB are 'done' and people just need to accept it.

theres still 20 teams that would love having champ on their side...he may not be fast or flashy anymore but hes still great in coverage.

i get that you cant plug him in as a cog of the defense, but building around a guy like nnamdi he could still be excellent. He can be old and still very good like champ and woodson

not saying the eagles are terrible on defense but sometimes a big FA signing can be a square peg in a round hole....asante and DRC are much better fits for them than nnamdi ever was, they were trying so hard for a dream team though

have you been watching the same broncos games that i've been watching for the last few years? champ is AWFUL in coverage. not only is he not fast (and he hasn't been 'fast' for a LONG time), he consistently loses his receiver and mis-plays the ball. champ is a liability for the broncos and harris is already taking a lot of snaps away from champ. as the season goes along, especially in january, i won't be surprised at all if we see champ on the field less and less and that would be a good thing for the broncos.

whoa, whoa............ woodson maintained his level of play as he got older MUCH better than champ has. Champ has been bad, yes, i said BAD, for a few years. he is very much a below average cornerback in this league.

champ in his early 30's was/is nowhere near where woodson was in his early 30's.

champ belongs nowhere in the conversation with woodson. BLASPHEMY!!! :ranting:
