The Kansas City Chiefs will have a moment of silence before Sunday's game against the Carolina Panthers for all victims of domestic violence and their families, according to the Kansas City Star, no names will be mentioned.

The circumstances surrounding the death of linebacker Javon Belcher and the 22-year-old mother of Belcher's child, Kasandra Perkins, certainly made this a complicated decision. The Chiefs surely had to address what happened, but it makes all the sense in the world that the Chiefs would be sensitive to how they recognized Belcher's death publicly.

A three-month-old is without her parents because of Saturday's events. Recognizing only the victims in this tragedy is the right thing to do.

Screw Belcher, but the woman and her daughter deserve it. Not that it will really help anything.

The Chiefs haven't even acknowledged him and apparently the Hunts are going to make a donation to victims of assault/abuse and are setting up a trust fund(kind of thing) for the kid.

Very cool. I hadn't heard that. Sounds like they're handling it the right way.

Class move by the Chiefs to do that for this girl. I think the guy still counts against their salary cap. It would be nice if they just took his salaries and gave it to the baby.
