The New England Patriots are going back to an old friend to help fill a hole on the wide receiver depth chart, and it's not Deion Branch this time. NFL.com's Albert Breer reports the team signed Donte' Stallworth, according to a source who spoke with player. Stallworth, 31, has tried out for a few teams since the Patriots cut him in August, but he hasn't been on a roster this year. Stallworth's signing doesn't bode well for Julian Edelman, who left Sunday's win over the Miami Dolphins, he was seen on crutches after the game. The Patriots are lacking depth after cutting Branch last month and losing practice squad player Greg Salas to the Philadelphia Eagles on waivers. Source: NFL.com
I've never been able to grasp the fascination with him. He's never been very good. He's really only had one decent season...
He's been good, not great. But I just liked what he brought with his deep threat and he just seemed like a cool guy in interviews.
he had 1 catch and the pats were just chucking the ball down the field play after play to see if they could connect on one. they were just trying to entertain and put on a show. stallworth just happened to be the lucky recipient of one of them. i doubt he will be a major factor in this teams' overall success.
Plus he was getting caught from behind by 2 defenders. He's a decent option for the rest of the year to full a gap, but i'm not counting on him to produce regularly.
hes basically devery henderson, which is weird since that used to be all the saints had was those two
