The Cardinals claimed QB Brian Hoyer off waivers and placed C Rich Ohrnberger on injured reserve. Hoyer spent three weeks with the Steelers before being waived. He was a backup QB for the Patriots the previous three seasons. He has appeared in 13 regular-season games and has thrown one touchdown pass and one interception. “There’s no question (quarterback is) something that has to be looked at and addressed,†head coach Ken Whisenhunt told reporters before claiming Hoyer. “We tried to, and continue to try to. The play from that position this year hasn’t been good enough or consistent enough and that’s an important part of it.†Ohrnberger (knee) played in all 13 games with four starts, including the last two at center after starter Lyle Sendlein was lost for the season with a torn MCL. Sad, but true. And frankly it's embarrassing. But the worst part, Whiz has absolutely no idea what he's doing with the QB position. If he's around next year, it wouldn't surprise me in the least to see him make a play for Michael Vick.
